Why you need a 300 DPI vector map for a large wall art print
When you are printing a large frame, the question comes quickly: will it pixelate? For city maps, the answer depends less on a screenshot and more on the final file type.
What 300 DPI means in print
300 DPI is a common reference for quality printing at close viewing distance. In raster images such as JPG or PNG, you need many pixels to keep detail sharp. If there are not enough pixels, thin lines become blurry.
Why vector is better for maps
A vector map stores streets, boundaries, and shapes as geometry rather than as a fixed pixel grid. That is why it can be enlarged while keeping clean edges and precise lines.
When to use vector PDF
Vector PDF is a strong choice for print shops, large frames, and decorative wall art. It also lowers the risk of sending a file that is too small for the final print size.
How to check your map is ready
Zoom to the final print size and inspect thin streets, text, and color areas. If everything still looks crisp, the map is much better prepared to become wall art.
